Private transfer has been arranged for you from your hotel in Athens to the port of Piraeus for embarkation to Santorini. A romantic escape to Santorini should start with arrival by sea. The barren rocky cliffs raise straight out of the blue Aegean while whitewashed houses perch on the cliffs. The first look at Santorini is just a glimpse of the wonders you can explore with your beloved. Upon arrival transfer is arranged to your hotel.

First we take you to Prophet Elias Monastery built on the highest point of the island in 1711AD. The road to Prophet Elias passes through the famous vineyards of Santorini and through Pyrgos village. We arrive to Monastery where the view is breathtaking and we stay there about 20min. Then we will go south to reach the important archaeological site of Akrotiri.  Akrotiri Excavations are the most famous excavations in Greece that brought to light a Minoan town preserved under the pumice for 3000 years. This Bronze Age town of the 16th century BC used to about 30.000 inhabitants. The volcanic ash has preserved the paved streets, the two or three storey buildings all connected by a sophisticated drainage system. Hundreds of pithy jars, utensils and impressive frescoes were found. Excavations are still going on to uncover 300 buildings more. Our expert guide will lead an informative and interesting tour of about an hour and make you take a trip to the past in this amazing civilization. Then we will have the chance to admire the magnificent beauty of Santorini nature. So we take a drive to Faros, the south cape of the island where the view to caldera is magnificent. We will make a stop to take some excellent photos. Then we go to Perissa Exomitis to have lunch. To end the day nicely, we take you to a Canava  (winery) where you can sample some of the most excellent wines produced on the island. Departure: 10h30 Return: 17h00 (5 pm) approx.   Note: At the time of presenting this package, the site was closed due to restorations works. In case the site is not open to the public yet, when you start with this package, the Museum of Fira with finds from the excavations will be visited instead. Entrance fees are not included.

A day at leisure for you to pass as you like, but whatever you do, make sure you are back in time for the romantic evening cruise of tonight! In the afternoon you will board a traditional boat that will take you along the caldera cliff. As the sun creates colours and shadows on the white houses of Fira and Oia, a welcome drink is being served and you have the opportunity to take pictures of the lovely view.  In the meantime a delicious buffet dinner is prepared for you. As the sun is fading away, you approach Oia. Relaxing music, drinks, food and dancing will make this romantic cruise unforgettable.   Departure: depending on the season 17h45 (5.45 pm) – 18h30 (6.30 pm) – 17h30 (6.30 pm)  Return: 22h00 (10.00 pm) approx.

 

After transfer by coach to the port you will board a traditional boat that will sail to the lava islet of Nea Kameni. Here you will disembark and walk an ascending soil path to the crater of the still active Volcano.  Make sure that you wear comfortable walking shoes and bring along a bottle of water! Back on the boat sail to the second lava islet called Palea Kameni, where the Hot Springs are to be found. You can have a swim in the green sulphur waters or even take a bath in the warm therapeutic mud. The next stop (one hour and 10 min.) where you will embark is the beautiful and traditional island of Thirassia.  Here you can swim at the beach next to the port or you can visit the traditional village Manolas by the winding stairs, either walking or riding a donkey.  Oia is the last destination. You will leave the boat at Armeni, the small traditional port of Oia and approach Oia village by stairs, either walking or riding a donkey. Oia is built along the rim of the caldera wall; you can stroll around in the village and enjoy the magnificent panoramic view, the traditional architecture, the art galleries, the romantic coffee shops, and the spectacular colourful sunset. Fifteen minutes after the sunset you depart from the village square to return to your departure point.   Departure: depending on the season: 11h15 – 13h00 – 10h45 Return: 15 minutes after sunset.
